A Japanese garden for your terrace or apartment balcony…

The size of this simple and easily portable Japanese garden is 80 x 50 x 23 cm (LxWxH). The base consists of a wooden frame with just two laths on the bottom of it with a layer of polystyrene (any excess water can easily drain off). Use two boards, each of them 10cm thick. You will need to cut holes (one for the pine and one for the complementary plant) of the appropriate size into the polystyrene to place the pots into. This way the plants will be protected against cold winter temperatures and the garden can remain at the same place all year round. Also, you will not have to water it that often. After that, simply cover the insulation with small-grain gravel and suitable boulders representing rocks. For the wooden boards choose a colour that matches with the railing or floor of your terrace or façade. Alternatively use just a neutral brown. It is all up to you…
